We have made a last minute change to our July meeting location. Instead of Studio Two Three, we will be meeting at U-Fab on Tuesday July 10th from 6PM to 8PM. The address is 7921 West Broad Street, Richmond Virginia 23294. Hope to see everyone there!

PS – remember this meeting is hands-on with an applique supply list so please see below for the supplies that you’ll need to bring.

For the July applique mini workshop:

Applique Tool Box, from Carolyn Friedlander:
+Thread for project (such as Aurifil Cotton 50wt)
+ Appliqué needles (such as Clover Gold Eye Appliqué Needles No. 10)
+ Appliqué pins (such as Clover Appliqué Size 12)
+ Large fabric scissors (Ginghers, Kai 8″ or 9″)
+ Small fabric scissors (Ginghers, Kai 8
+ Removable marking tool (such as Pilot Frixion pen–always test on fabric before using)
+ Seam gauge (such as Dritz Measuring Gauge)
+ Heavy paper or template plastic (for copying templates)
Optional supplies:
+Preferred Thimble
+Needle threader
+thread conditioner (such as Thread Heaven or beeswax)

Project Block: TWO OPTIONS
1. The KISS Level–simple, but a lot of folks have done this:
Three Circles on a Background  “Half Lego block” or “Dot Candy”
+3  mini charms
+5.5″ x 7.5″ background fabric

2. The NO MORE CIRCLES Level–for those who want a small block:
Popsicle Party, a free pattern on the Robert Kaufman website.
A little more involved, but fun for those who have already done application

I have attached the pattern. I would instruct folks not to machine baste.
